17th December 2009   Finally got everything to stage I am happy with enough to go on. Concurrently created CV and mail template to reflect this styling.

11th December 2009   Got the redirection of the flash sorted. Resorted to actionscript 2.0 language until I can get a better understanding of actionscript 3.0.

Had to remove the pink "rj" from the centre of this page as it was obscuring text.

  10th December 2009

it's all about the flash on the homepage today. Not used flash for a few years so will have to be prepared for some slow going. Had an idea about letting the little "rj's" come through tears in the page to pass across the screen. Will create the tear effect in photoshop as my scanner isn't connected to this computer yet.

Update - Got the content finished and now need to get it to autoload the next page into the same window.

09th December 2009   Today was laborious. Had to format all the images and then get the scripts working properly. Lots of hair tearing and teeth gnashing. Finally got it done and am reasonably please with the results. Deciding to control this site with css was definitely the correct way to go. Saved myself loads of time!

08th December 2009   Ok, so I had some difficulty getting the scripts working today for the project and hobby parts of the site. Will have a sleep on it and let my subconscious do the work.

07th December 2009   Parted ways with Kleerex Group Ltd after five and a half years. Left on decent terms and now building this site to document my design portfolio, basic CV and also some of the works-in-progress, hobby art and design I like to do in my spare time. Almost everything on this site has been created since the catastrophic drive failure which reduced my back catalogue of work down to a minimal and meager offering, save for a few items which I have managed to retrieve through various sources and sites.

  30th November 2009

Started mulling around ideas for this new site. Came up with three menu systems prior to opting for something very small and very simple in the top left hand corner. I am going to learn PHP and My SQL to allow me to really control this blog area of the site. When complete it should have the following usability:

  • Quick links to topics
  • Easy to add new entries whilst retaining the look and feel of the rest of the site
  • Links to areas such as Downloads, Tutorials, Links. Will add to this list as the site develops
  • User comments and threads (not exactly a forum however)
Essentially I want to have this as the main hub of the site. The rest of the pages will be pretty standard and static in terms of content, with finished items in the blog working their way into the correct areas of the site main as necessary. I will get the splash screen to auto load into the new blog page when it goes live as opposed to the current about.html page.
